David Fellerath of the Independent Weekly has a great piece up about FBR in advance of Friday's screening at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. He calls the film "funny, surreal and sometime disorienting." A short review in the same issue called the film "sometimes lighthearted, always provocative" and "one of the most thematically rich films in the festival." If you're interested, we're screening at 10:15 PM in the magnificent Carolina Theater.

We're thrilled to report that FBR will have its theatrical debut at New York's Film Forum, opening on July 9, 2008. We'll be posting more details soon.

Full Battle Rattle took home the Special Jury Award at SXSW Tuesday night. After two amazing screenings, passionate discussion and a healthy intake of BBQ we're back in NYC and looking towards upcoming screenings at Full Frame and Hot Docs. If you're still in Austin, you can check out FBR at the Alamo Ritz at 8 PM on Friday night. Stay tuned here for SXSW reviews as they come in.

FBR premiered on Monday, February 11 to a sold-out crowd at the Cinestar 7 in Berlin's Postdamer Platz, followed by a passionate discussion. We're still recovering from the intense response the film generates. Here are a couple of press notices. From the Times of London:

The festival is also famous for documentaries, and Tony Gerber and Jesse Moss's Full Battle Rattle is an absolute peach. I'm not sure how they've been able to get away with this utterly stunning fly-on-wall piece about a "virtual reality Iraq" set up in the Mojave Desert to train American troops. It would be a sublime satire if it wasn't horribly true.
